A novel for teenagers and the young at heart. While on holidays in the mountains Jenny Waterstone encounters a strange, but beautiful flower. When she tries to pick it she discovers it is not a flower, but something else, something she doesn't understand. Trying to catch it to show her parents she ends up falling into a strange world where she nearly drowns in a whirlpool before being rescued by Chiron the Centaur. All she wants is to return to her everyday life, but until that happens she will have to live here in this very different world. That means surviving an avaricious slaver, an evil witch, a giant eagle, two very different dragons, the vale of illusions and of course herself among other things. As well as meeting a wide variety of other strange but often beautiful entities, Jenny ends up enjoying her adventure, but all too soon it is time to return to the real world.
