During my years from childhood to adulthood, I often wondered why I should believe that Mary gave birth to Jesus while she was a virgin, which indicated that Joseph was not biologically, the father of Jesus. Concluding that it is the New Testament that made the story real, I conducted an in-depth study into the life of Christ Jesus. It seemed Jesus was at an advantage because he was born from a spiritual Father but so was Adam who sinned, which would prove the situation fair. Since that Jesus is the last Adam and Alpha then we who have been born with biological parents serve the purpose of replenishing the earth, which is the mystery in the Word of God. We must adopt to the life and death of Jesus to understand his mystery and it is for such a reason that I have done a self-study. I have studied only the King James Version of the Holy Bible to discover Christian living and was overwhelmed with the misconception of such a life. My many discoveries I kept in perspective by writing and after several pages I decided to share the facts with you all.

I just finished reading this book and I must confess it is a very enlightening read. Carl Marshall takes us through his beliefs and shows us the result of his own personal studies. One of the things I really enjoyed about this book is that is does more than simply quote scripture and repeat the same, tired rants that most other books like this do.This book is written in a very easy to read manner. It is easy to understand and you feel that you know the author. Almost like he is speaking to you. There are plenty of examples from Mr. Marshall's own life. This makes the book so much more real. The book explains passages in the Bible, but more than that it gives real examples we can apply to our lives.

The Christian life is frequently misunderstood, especially by those who are in it. Christians of all ages and walks of life face feelings of stagnancy, which is frequently telling of a certain "something lacking" in their walk. "The Light of Innocence Christian Living" by Carl Marshall is an amazing asset to Christians who want to see exponential growth in their spiritual lives. As he details in his book, this short work is only a "user manual" for the "tool box" which is the Bible. One of the most inspiring parts of this book is that Marshall is completely self taught by nothing more than the Holy Spirit and the Word. In the same way, we as fellow believers have the opportunity to live up to our full potential in Christ. I hope this book gives you the same forward momentum in that direction that it did for me.

This book really tackles many of the questions we Christians or even those who are looking into Christianity have about the world today and how important it is to protect our spirit and our "light". Another great aspect of the book is how it addresses how important it is to keep our faith, especially as one of the three steps the author speaks of to getting eternal life. The author really goes in depth of how important it is for us as Christians to grow spiritually especially in today's world and how in the end this spiritual growth, acceptance of Jesus Christ and faith will get us to Heaven. I give this book 5 stars and recommend it for anyone looking to grow in their own Christianity.
There are often questions new believers and non-believers have about Christianity. In The Light of Innocence, Carl Marshall tackles some of these questions and successfully clears up much of the confusion behind them. Why Christianity? Why baptism? Carl clearly presents the gospel of Jesus Christ and believes that Jesus is the only way to gain salvation. He shows the meaning behind baptism and shows readers that it is an agreement of the new covenant, and reveals life after baptism as a representation of Christ and separation from this world. Carl provides Scripture (KJV) references for support of his writing. He endows the reader with practical applications to the Christian life. This book will aid many new believers and will help all who read it grow spiritually.
The book is a clear message of how one should take responsibilities of its own acts and it consequences. There is a lot of religion involved and for those that are restricted to one religion may not enjoy the book; I myself,having a different religion enjoyed the book for the fact that, gave me a different perspective, when comes to responsibilities in life. Sometimes one thinks that, just been baptized is enough to continue with its faith. What I see in this book is that, yes baptism is a good way, but if you are baptized and not watch vigilantly your acts in life you are not doing the right thing. After all, most of the religions teach you to love one another and not cause hard to anyone. God will us of course, but our spiritual responsibilities are our own duties and to maintain in good stands, we need to work hard, sometimes hard to do now a days. Religion is a difficult topic to write a review, but this book can give a different view of Christianity.
Carl Marshall immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada from Manchester, Jamaica at the age of nineteen. He is a self taught man in the scriptures. Observing the lives of baptized church members and seeing little or no change in their lives after being baptized, Carl began to wonder if their was more to the Christian life. "The Light of Innocence" has been inspired by that study.
Marshall begins by explaining his view of God's righteousness, understanding and obedience to His Word, repentance, renewal (baptism), and the Christian's role as an ambassador for Jesus Christ.
Although Marshall's discoveries include God's marvelous grace in providing man's salvation, his theme is heavily weighted on the side of man's choice in maintaining this gift through pursuing a pattern of works. Admittedly, Marshall recognizes the opposition he is receiving for his personal convictions from organized religious groups. He stands firm in these beliefs and is willing to face the "battle" to hold to what he presents as truth.
His teaching on salvation, the new covenant, and the church are all backed up with references from the Bible. "The Light of Innocence" is a primer on Christian living but should be studied in light of the Church in Berea, making a careful study in light of the whole context of the Bible.
Marshall titled his book "The Light on Innocence" based on Jesus' words in Matthew 183. "Except you are converted and become as little children, you will not enter into the Kingdom of God."
Thank you to Carl Marshall for the Light of Innocence! Even though the subject matter can be a 'bit sticky' at times, I found the book to be a fast, thought provoking read! I utilized the book as a study guide, finding the passages and references mentioned in my Bible and re-read them with a new light. He made several points that I had pondered throughout my life and was very convincing in helping me solve those mysteries!
I appreciated the length of the book, Mr Marshall was able to clearly make and recap his points of view within the limited number of pages. The cover art beautifully portrays a man deep in prayer and meditation.
